UPAA-UAE

If you've just joined UPAA-UAE here's a checklist for you to do.  Consider this your neophyte's "TO DO" list so you are able to get into the groove of all things that is UPAA-UAE.

This is a 10-step list to help you find your way around the Association as a newbie.

1. Register with http://www.upaauae.org
2. Register with UPAA-UAE's YahooGroup. 
3. Contact the Membership Committee (MemCom) to find out how you can update your details as well as pay your Membership Dues.  Go to Committees to find out how much you will have to pay as a new member.
4. Find out if you know other UPians by checking out the Members list off this website.  Add them to your Profile's friends.
5. Read the UPAA-UAE Bylaws.  This will help you get more familiar with the various workings of the Association as well as give you an idea of how the Association works.
6. Check out the various Committees.  You may want to help a committee and every member is placed in a committee of their choice, so look into the various committees of the Association so you can decide which one you will help this year.  You may help more than one committee so long as there are no conflicts with schedules and tasks.
7. Join a subgroup.  The best way to be a part of a smaller group of like-minded UPians is to join a sub-group that best suits you.  There are several subgroups to choose from and you may join as many as your time will allow.
8. Attend an event or activity.  Check out our Calendar to see if there are any events that you are able to attend.  This is the best way to meet fellow UPians in the UAE and know if there are any UPians in your neighbourhood.
9. Share your thoughts.  Being a UPian, you have strong views on things and you are always welcome to share your ideas, comments, suggestions, reactions to any of our threads in the Discussion area.  Be known, be heard!
10. Take part and lead.  Each year, we elect people into our Executive Committee.  You may welcome the challenge of being one of the Association's Board of Directors or lead a sub-group or sub-committee.  Leaders and visionaries are always welcome!  Check out this year's Board of Directors with links to previous BOD's on the same page.
